Srushti Deshmukh is beginning to prepare for the UPSC entry in her 3rd year of engineering degree. When she finished her senior year of engineering, Deshmukh was unsure if she could be interested in working in engineering. Eventually, she realised that civil engineering was her love and decided to pursue the field. The parents of her encouraged her to pursue civil services and have an opportunity to work in public service. She did not lose motivation and was focused at her dream of becoming an IAS. To be able to pass UPSC requires more effort. The student also studied for UPSC examinations while doing her engineering studies. Everyday she carved out time for exam preparation. In just one and a quarter months, she passed her engineering examinations, and stayed away from all contact with people. She believes that being focused solely on what needs to be done is essential to pass this exam. She wanted to pass this test on her first attempt and put in a lot of work. Her habit was to go through newspapers to stay up-to-date with current affairs every day. She also got a lot of assistance online, acquiring various studying materials as well as watching Rajya Sabha TV.
